The world is turning buildings into giant power banks: Huading prefabricated BIPV becomes standard

2025/8/30 15:26:12 admin 阅读 203【次】

A green energy revolution is underway in the global building sector: the EU mandates that all new buildings meet zero-emission standards by 2030; the Philippine government has announced a goal of 100% solar coverage for public buildings; and China has incorporated building carbon intensity into its national mandatory standards. These policy initiatives are driving photovoltaic technology to redefine the urban landscape.

EU: New buildings must achieve net-zero emissions by 2030

In April 2024, the EU adopted a new version of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), stipulating that all new buildings must achieve net-zero emissions by 2030 and public buildings by 2028. Starting in 2026, new commercial and public buildings, and starting in 2029, new residential buildings must include access to photovoltaic systems. The directive also calls for the gradual phase-out of fossil fuel heating in buildings and promotes the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2025. These policies reflect the significant pressure to reduce emissions in the building sector, which accounts for 40% of the EU's total energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions.

UK: New homes will have rooftop solar panels installed by default.

The UK will implement the Future Homes Standard this fall, requiring new homes to include rooftop photovoltaic systems and low-carbon heating equipment (such as air-source heat pumps). This policy is expected to save each household approximately £530 in energy bills annually, significantly improving home energy efficiency.

Southeast Asian countries: 100% solar power for government buildings

Philippines Undersecretary of Energy Felix William B. Fuentebella announced the goal of "100% solar power for government buildings" at a photovoltaic installer conference, while also emphasizing the expansion of rural electricity access through solar home systems. Bali has introduced a mandatory solar policy, requiring government agencies, hotels, and other venues to install rooftop photovoltaic systems as a key step towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.

China: PV applications must be considered during the project approval phase.

China's "General Code for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Utilization in Buildings," implemented in 2022, is the first in a developing country to include building carbon emissions in mandatory calculations, requiring new residential and public buildings to reduce energy consumption by 30% and 20%, respectively, compared to 2016 standards. The Code's requirement that "new buildings must install solar systems" means that photovoltaic applications must be considered from the project inception stage.

Global policy trends indicate that photovoltaic rooftops are evolving from add-on components to integral building components. With technological advancements, traditional photovoltaic panels are gradually being replaced by more aesthetically pleasing and integrated building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) solutions.

Huading Prefabricated BIPV

Zoom Solar Green Energy's Huading BIPV product utilizes cadmium telluride thin-film photovoltaic modules in an integrated design, delivering efficient and stable power generation performance. Designed specifically for industrial and commercial rooftops, it utilizes an integrated, prefabricated technology approach. It boasts high efficiency, aesthetic appeal, safety, and reliability, making it widely applicable in new and renovated industrial and commercial buildings. This product technology pioneers the integration of power generation into the building structure, replacing traditional exterior wall materials while achieving energy self-sufficiency. It maintains the building's aesthetics while delivering efficient power generation, providing owners with both functional and aesthetic benefits.

01 Resource Utilization

Huading BIPV achieves efficient resource utilization by integrating power generation into the building structure. This design reduces the additional materials and installation space required by traditional photovoltaic systems, thereby reducing raw material consumption and construction waste. As a clean energy solution, this technology not only optimizes building resource utilization but also significantly reduces carbon emissions throughout a building's lifecycle, effectively alleviating pressure on natural resources.

02 Space Savings

Huating BIPV offers an innovative approach to addressing energy needs in space-constrained cities. This technology utilizes unused rooftop space to generate electricity without requiring a footprint. By cleverly integrating cadmium telluride thin-film photovoltaic modules into the building envelope, it achieves multiple benefits within limited urban space: it avoids the valuable land occupation of traditional photovoltaic power plants while meeting the energy needs of high-density urban areas through three-dimensional space utilization.

03 Flexible Design

Huating BIPV technology transcends the limitations of traditional solar panels, transforming its power generation function into a design element that enhances architectural aesthetics. This product can be customized based on site requirements, with adjustable light transmittance and size for optimal architectural fit. Technological advancements ensure that solar systems are no longer a compromise in architectural design, but rather a new medium for realizing architects' creative visions. While preserving the integrity of existing design concepts, they also imbue buildings with richer expressiveness and a contemporary character.

National policy initiatives and technological innovation are converging to usher in a new architectural paradigm—one where every wall and roof becomes a clean energy producer, seamlessly integrating architectural aesthetics and energy functionality. Zoom Solar Green Energy, with its cutting-edge "Huading" BIPV (commercial and industrial photovoltaic rooftop solution), seamlessly integrates efficient power generation systems into the fabric of buildings. As the concept of "building as power station" becomes a reality, Zoom Solar Green Energy's innovative strength is proving that a sustainable future begins with every inch of space we build today.
